Present day

When Camille told me she left me that message with Joe to tell me she was pregnant, I knew what I had to do. Joe and I need to have a little conversation in which he has to explain to me what on God’s green earth possessed him to keep something that important from me.

He won’t know what hit him. Yeah, I know I should probably calm down first before talking to him, but I can’t wait.

Because of him, I didn’t even know I had a son until today. He’s had plenty of fucking time to tell me. I won’t give him any more of it.

After my car squeals to a stop in my parking space, I head straight for the common room at the venue. We’re supposed to start rehearsing soon, so I know he’ll probably be here. He likes to make sure we remember we’re on a short leash. He thinks he has us—especially me—by the short and curlies, but he’s about to find out just how very fucking wrong he is.

When I throw the door open, it hits the wall with a thud. Everyone looks up and stares at me as though I’ve lost my mind. I ignore them all for now. They’ll figure out what this is all about soon enough.

Instead of paying attention to my bandmates, I zero in on the person I’m looking for and unfortunately for him, he’s the first one to open his lying goddamn mouth.

“So happy you decided to join us after all,” Joe sneers.

His eyes focus on me, but when he sees the anger that must be written all over my face, he flinches. I don’t think, I just act. Stalking toward him with a few long strides, I yank him out of his chair and grab the collar of his jacket with both hands, marching him backward until his back hits the wall.

“I don’t know what your problem is this time, Sticks, but I suggest you let go of me right now,” he yells, his face turning an unnatural shade of puce as puts his hands on mine and tries to pry them off him.

“Why?” I holler, moving my face forward until it’s almost right up against his.

The other band members have joined us, and Max is trying to calm me down. “Sticks, what the fuck is wrong? Let Joe go!”

Enraged, I shake my head. “Not before this asshole tells me the truth.”

“What truth?” Joe fumes. “I swear to God, if you don’t let go of me this instant...”

“Why didn’t you tell me Camille was pregnant?”

Joe’s pupils dilate in shock. If I was still harboring any doubts, they’re completely gone now. The rest of the band have gone completely quiet.

“Camille’s pregnant?” John inquires softly, his voice sounding as shocked as Joe’s expression, but I don’t look at him when I answer.

“Not now,” I explain. “She was pregnant when we were about to leave for our tour. She was pregnant with my child and left Joe a message about
